Co-producer, James Saunders took to the road last night enroute to Philly Black Pride and to the National Black Justice Coalition convention in Baltimore.

At the same time our new promotion manager, Jason Carter is hitting the streets in New York City promoting the Nubian Dreams Cruise and tomorrow's next to last Nubian Dreams Lounge in NYC. • Will Nubian Dreams help me find a roomate? Yes


• Is this an all gay/lesbian cruise? No, we will have events by and for us in addition to the Carnival entertainment.
  
• Will there be parties and events just for us? Yes with the purchase of the "Sun Pass"
  
• Are there discounted prices online for this cruise? Well there are discount brokers offering low rates for this sailing but while investigating we found that their prices are actually higher for lesser cabin categories. They don't advertise the government fees and fuel surcharges.


• Can non-Nubian Dreams guests buy the "Sun Pass"? Perhaps but only if there are still "Sun Passes" available after all Nubian Dreams guests have the opportunity to purchase them. Passes go on sale to non-Nubian Dreams guests after June 1, 2008


• Will cabins be available after July 1 the final payment deadline? It is doubtful and if there are they will be extremely expensive. Cruise vacations work differently then land vacations. People book months in advance and the Producers of the Nubian Dreams Cruise do not warehouse cabins. If you are seriously considering traveling with Nubian Dreams you should make your commitment now.

The Nubian Dreams Story

Every event has a story. The Nubian Dreams Cruise is no different. For years James Saunders and Laurence Pinckney have been getting requests to do an event on a cruise out of NYC. That is easier said than done. In the fall of 2007 they decided to throw caution to the wind and give it a try. It had been two years since the last and original Dominican Island Heat and one year from Bahian Heat and three years since the last Black Pride NYC event that they produced. On each event the same challenges presented themselves; Major sponsors who were willing to provide funding were hard to come by because most believe that the African American LGBT market is serviced from the general LGBT and also the African American markets are covered. We have tried to explain the benefits of specifically targeting us (African American LGBT's) and giving us special attention. Fortunately HBO continues to show support for our events as does several media outlets like Next Magazine, Go Magazine, Bleu Magazine, GBM News and Clik Magazine. Along with our promoter partners and affiliates the word is out yet that leaves our biggest challenge - getting people to commit to the event EARLY. Of all the events we have done this has been the fastest seller, however, we need the rest of the 50 cabins to sell out before May 1, 2008. That will leave us free to focus on the special programming we have in store for our guests.

This sailing on the Carnival Miracle is selling faster than all others. The cruise ship would be very happy to pick up some of the cabins we are currently holding so that they could sell them to their other guests at a premium. We don't want that to happen so we encourage everyone who says they are going to make the reservation today by making the initial deposit of $400.00 via mail or online. Don't wait any longer. The Nubian Dreams team is proud to announce the release of the "Sun Pass" for the Nubian Dreams Cruise departing NYC on October 8th, 2008 en route to San Juan, PR, St. Thomas,Virgin Islands and Tortola, British Virgin Islands and returning to NYC on Oct. 16th, 2008. The "Sun Pass" is an optional program that will take place during the Carnival Cruise. We are excited to feature a special concert by the incredible entertainer, Ms. Alyson Williams as well as three on board parties with well known DJ's playing a variety of music, a seminar series coordinated by Ifalade Ta'shia Asanti, the HBO Film Festival, the Boom @ Banana Party in St. Thomas at a spectacular villa overlooking Megan's Bay and a trip to the Soleil Beach Club just outside of San Juan. All of this for the incredible low "early bird" price of $160.00 for registered Nubian Dreams guests. Each guest is emailed instructions for payment. All others will be able to purchase the Sun Pass after June 1, 2008 if available. All sales are final and programming is subject to change.
