Getting It Together

Getting together a group of this size is a complicated process that never ends. Not only do you have to negotiate to get the best cabins at the lowest price possible but you also have to bid for rooms to host your events. Since none of the African American LGBT groups have been able to book the entire ship yet it is often about the numbers to the cruise ships. Those with the most people get the best time slots and the best rooms. The reason we like to see the early bookings is that it give us more power to negotiate with the cruise line. Again we want to thank all of you who have already booked and ask those of you who are waiting to jump in...the water is just fine. Stay tune for more exciting pictures from our inspection tour in the coming days. In the meantime click this link to reserve your spot today. Remember that the price will increase on Dec. 1.

Slide show of Rooms on Carnival Miracle

So we just got back from the inspection tour of the Carnival Miracle. Here are some pictures that James and I took personally. The ship is better than we expected. It's big enough to get lost if you wish but small enough to get around with ease.

Thanksgiving Wishes

While most of you will be waking to the wonderful smells of the Thanksgiving feast cooking, James & I will be on a plane to Fort Lauderdale. We will be going down for a site visit on the Carnival Miracle. Although we would rather be spending time with our loved ones it is important to put the final touches on our adventure so that we can offer you the details of our amazing "Sun Pass" in mid December.
Our day will start early on Friday as we board the ship and meet with the group coordinator to preview all the cabins we have ordered as well as to select the meeting rooms for our many events. Since the Nubian Dreams event is not the only event on the ship during those eight days we must vie for the best of everything. There will come a time in the near future when we will be able to charter a entire ship for our adventure but right now we must make sure that our guests have all the comforts of home with a splash of adventure.

We are very fortunate that we have sold so many cabins this quickly. Thank you. People seem to understand the importance of getting their deposits in early not only to save money but also to guarantee the type of cabin they want. New York is a very desirable port since so many guests can drive and park instead of flying to the ship. This is a huge advantage to the travelers and they are snapping up cabins left and right. Carnival has already raised the prices twice and we are sure that more increases will come soon. Our goal is to get as many from our group to reserve now. Remember that the only way to guarantee the cabin price is to get your $100.00 non-refundable deposit in and to select your cabin type.
Thinking of what to get your friends and family for Xmas or Kwanzaa? Why not give them a trip they will remember forever. Reserve a cabin on the Nubian Dreams Cruise for a friend pr family member today. We will send you the gift certificate in time for the holidays.

Wishing you all the best this holiday weekend. Please take a moment to remember those less fortunate and the soldiers in harms way. God bless you all.

Welcome to the Nubian Dreams Blog

As you know by now, the Nubian Dreams Cruise is going to be something special. Not only do we have a beautiful ship-the Carnival Miracle- to transport us to wonderful ports of call in the Caribbean, we will also have the best group of Gay, Lesbian, Bi and Gay Friendly people traveling with us 9 magical days. Our ports include New York City, San Juan, Puerto Rico, St. Thomas & Tortola. We will depart New York City on Oct. 8th, 2008 and return to New York on Oct. 16, 2008.

We recently had the pleasure of going on the Songmaster Cruise 8 day cruise to Panama, Mexico and Costa Rica. During our trip it became clear that what is most important is the fellowship between people. Folks came from all over the country and shared their experiences with each other. The programming was secondary. This year's the host was the legendary Rayceen Pendaravis.
As most of us know if you are over 35 and grown& sexy there are not many places where we can be together. James & I met film producers, lawyers, judges, sanitation engineers and many more positive progressive individuals. Well next October, we are calling Black G&L Cruise month. Black and Latin LGBT people will have three wonderful adventures to choose from for their vacation. Ebony Pyramid will be going to the Bahamas on their annual Columbus weekend 3 day cruise leaving from Ft. Lauderdale, Songmaster will be covering the Mexican Riveria departing from San Diego, CA on his annual 8 day cruise and we are proud to launch the Nubian Dreams Cruise out of New York City. Until the point that we have more media outlets that help to get the word out to you, it is up to each of us to get the information out. We are just doing our part. We could sure use your help.

Now some might say why are we advertising the other cruises? Because it is always good to have choices and we appreciate the fact that guests will chose where they want to go. We know that the Nubian Dreams Team has a track record of producing spectacular events over the years and now we will transform the sea with similar programming. If you have gone to Dominican Island Heat I or II, Bahian Heat, Black Pride in NYC from 2001-2005 or the White Party Moonlight Cruise, you know what we can do.

Stay tune for more updates. Please join the blog email list for updates.
